Mobile App UX · UI design

Sewing enthusiasts often find it challenging to choose the right fabric for a specific pattern, as sewing magazines typically display fabrics in a flat form.

To address this issue, this app allows users to browse various sewing patterns, select different fabrics, and visualize how the chosen fabric will look in a particular sewing project. The app also enables users to place orders directly, ensuring a convenient shopping experience.

Through interviews with potential users, I discovered that there is a strong demand for such an app. 7 out of 7 sewing enthusiasts, including professionals, stated that this app would simplify their professional process.

After confirming its relevance, I conducted further research on existing similar apps or websites. I found that this type of project has not been widely developed outside of Adobe Photoshop tutorials for applying fabric patterns to pattern shapes.

The initial version’s sketches were structured according to the intended user experience map: registration, browsing, 3D visualization, ordering, feedback.

Design choices were guided by the company’s ongoing brand image transformation and the target audience. In researching the audience and customer base, I found that 87% of interested users are women aged 25 to 45.

The app’s design cleverly combines playful elements with modern elegance, using pastel tones and stylized UI elements. I chose a warm and friendly color palette that reflects a sense of coziness and creativity.

Recognizing the brand’s range of offerings for both women’s and children’s clothing, the UX and UI were designed to provide a shared experience for both parent and child when selecting, for example, a dress for the first day of school. It was important to include colors and stylized elements in the app’s visual design that appeal to both adults and children.
